Design brief:
The client’s property was in the heart of the West End of Aberdeen. The hard landscaping had already been designed and constructed in the front garden of the property. The brief was to create a planting plan.
The design:
The front garden was large with many mature plants already in place. A driveway was created in this space. Those plants in good condition remained in this space. A survey was carried out in this area to establish what should be retained. The area of the garden close to the road had some mature conifers which has created a dry, shady space. This was taken into account when specifying plants for this area. The client liked flowering shrubs in the bed close to the house to create an inviting entrance. The wall benefitted from some vertical planting.
