Design Brief:
A planting design for a large back garden in Milltimber, Aberdeen.
The back garden is South West facing. The clients wanted to rejuvenate the existing borders with all year round colour with different layers of planting to give structure. They also wanted some privacy in their garden from the neighbouring property. We specified evergreen pleached trees to be planted along the fence line to act as a screen. This also meant that the garden would not be overlooked. We also suggested a pergola along the existing boardwalk path to give a vertical accent to the garden and also frame the house and summerhouse.

After
In the back garden, we designed long sweeping borders either side of the large pergola. We used some existing plants already in the garden. New shrubs and perennials in white, blue, purple, pink and orange were also planted. The landscapers planted evergreen pleached Portuguese Laurel trees along the fence line to create a privacy screen. They also installed a statement pergola across the composite decking path to create a vertical accent to the space.
