Inverurie Gravel Garden
Design Brief
A complete renovation of a front garden designed to be a gravel garden in the heart of Inverurie. This front garden is South facing. The clients wanted to retain as a low maintenance gravel garden with new granite paving leading to the front door and around the front of the house. The clients wanted a symmetrical design with the same design mirrored on either side of the main path. They also wanted lush green planting with a colour palette of yellows and purples.

We designed a central granite path to the front door as well as in front of the windows. This needed to be wide enough to accommodate people as well as the rubbish bins! There are borders with evergreen perennials underneath the windows and in front of the windows with feature acer trees underplanted with shrubs and perennials to create privacy. There are generous borders lining the central path planted with evergreen shrubs and perennials in yellow and purple. Two borders at the boundary walls also create extra interest along with a cotoneaster to match the existing one in the garden. This is all topped off with gravel to keep the garden low maintenance
