Stone Compass Front Garden

Design brief:

The front garden is East facing. It had steps and path leading to the front door with symmetrical beds on either side of the path and at the front of the house. In the larger beds there were some mature shrubs which were retained and reused elsewhere in the garden. This garden is located in Fraserburgh.

The client wanted this area redesigned to incorporate a circular compass hard landscaping feature close to the gate. The rest of the paving had to be replaced with natural stone paving in keeping with the colours of the compass design. The granite steps were to be retained. Bed edging had deteriorated and was replaced. The client was keen on curved beds with borders that vary in height with planting. There is a low wall at the boundary edge which will eventually be fitted with metal railings.
